I’m not a podcast person, but this podcast index is rather handy. It appears that they’re gathering the disparate podcast namespaces into a collective RSS namespace — there’s even a podcast feed generator. That might be useful if you’re into podcasting.

Mesh networking software? Linux distributions like NixOS or Guix are not particularly suitable hosts in Internet blackout scenarios, as local operations are easily entangled into a remote build system.

Perhaps the only benefit of being behind a CGNAT on an increasingly centralizing Internet is conserving time. Playing the “are you human” captcha game is an excellent incentive for minimal browsing and off-lining as much software as possible.

I’m mulling on a good approach for parsing feeds on this micro blog. Creating a feed is easy, but parsing one is kinda messed. Many feeds out there are not valid, and that’s sorta expected. The W3C website has a nice RSS and Atom feed validator. There’s also the RSS and Atom feed specification.

Naming things is hard. For the times when you don’t know what or how to name things, there’s schema.org. Sometimes it helps.

Firefox’s developer tools excel at finding and fixing accessibility problems quickly. For example, to find all contrast issues on a page fire up the accessibility inspector and scan the DOM tree. My favorite developer tools? You guessed it — Firefox.

What makes a text editor or software in general popular? In my opinion — distribution and marketing. Anyone can make working software given sufficient time, but marketing is where the actual magic happens. The tech and fashion industry are cousins.
