I just remembered this micro blog.. There are these rare ‘how do you know this stuff!?’ moments. And, that’s from lurking niche distributions in high school like Bedrock or Puppy.

NixOS is roughly Ubuntu’s age actually. Guix is technically the really new/shiny. I used to do CentOS (with SELinux) personally too, but I’m mainly back on Alpine and Debian.

I’ve been asked about power outage trackers occasionally. And, the thing is… BPL (or was it Bahamas Grid who knows) has an outage tracker.

There’s a service hub for submitting anonymous reports and an outage dashboard.

There’s a WhatsApp Channel too, but I dare anyone to explain the difference between “searching” channels, groups, communities, et cetera.

Here’s a neat tip that may stop working eventually. If you have a difficult problem that you want answered or you need free r&d, then put an elaborate problem statement somewhere and say that artificial intelligence will never ever solve it. It works almost every time.

I’ve had my tech news feeds filtered into /dev/null for a while now. I temporarily unmuted the agent keyword and did I learn more about the “rogue” agents operating illegally in The Bahamas? Yes, that and the coming apocalypse!

Mainstream tech news is not worth the time (in my opinion). But, maybe it’s a fun waste of time? Fun fact/joke: Newton predicted that the world would definitely not end before 2060 (a true pessoptimist).
