Spoilers? In passing, I keep hearing about anime
[bans](https://www.tribune242.com/news/2025/sep/11/demon-slayer-film-approved-with-c-rating/).
I've been out the loop for years and glanced at some of what's
trending today.

There's a certain ["To Be Hero X"](https://weebwire.com/anime/to-be-hero-x).
Everyone's on an app called {{< render `{{< abbr FOMO "fear of missing out" >}}` >}}. The top 10 heroes
infight for the #1 title, `X`. The current `X`, at the [snap](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DY-0ntGxoPo&t=117s) of a finger can do
anything (in many animated dimensions), but just wants normalcy.

Heroes are ranked by trust scores, and their powers spun up by their fans.
There's one hero who has to smile, another standing _firm_, and one [mister nice](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eff15vYzN0o).
Then, there's that _sole_ anti-hero on FOMO trying to expose everyone as frauds.
The social satire in this, is as hilariously off the wall as its animation.
