Discussing strategies for detecting
[AI agents and crawlers](/tdro/messages/crawl/) has its apocalyptic comedy. How
many humans are bots, and bots humans? If
[captchas](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CAPTCHA) are unsolvable and work
unprovable, then _you are a bot_. But guess what? I'm
[not smart enough](/tdro/messages/cgnat/) to play captcha!

So I'm a bot (that's a joke) and technology works in unwitting ways. The web
wants smart humanoids not dumb humans --- it's
[robots.txt](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robots.txt) not
[humans.txt](https://web.archive.org/web/20240402143411/https://humanstxt.org/),
silly.
